1994 DUCATI 916S

RARE VARESE MODEL - ONE OF ONLY 199 PRODUCED

Here we offer the rare opportunity to acquire what is now regarded as the Holy Grail of the Ducati 916 series. A very special Ducati 916S Monoposto. Our UK supplied example is one of only 199 produced at the Cagiva Research Centre in Varese in 1994. With only covering 19500 kilometres (12000 miles) from new. 

It is well documented that this motorcycle changed the way of motorcycle design. The 916 regarded as the most beautiful motorcycle ever built and without doubt the most important model created at Ducati. However, this project almost didn't happen, a disaster at Ducati HQ in Bologna, fire breaking out just after the 916 launch meant that production had to be moved to the Cagiva Centre in Varese where these bikes were built mainly by hand using many parts from the 851 and 888 and are now recognised as the highly sought after 916 "Varese". Of these hand built collectable 1994 examples only 199 Ducati 916S Monopostos were produced!

Just undergone a complete recommission and light restoration by ourselves using many new-old stock parts including Brembo cast iron brake discs, genuine Ducati Brembo brake pads etc (too many new parts used to list). 

Presented as a completely stock/original bike with correct date stamped parts (wheels, callipers clip-ons etc.) including Cagiva Elephant fuel cap, M125 screen, blue air pressure sensor with the exception of Oberon slave cylinder, DID 520 chain & sprocket conversion (Front sprocket renthal, rear from a 748R), upgraded YT12B-BS battery.

Comes supplied with the original paddock stand, original 916S owners manual, original cagiva service booklet, new Ducati indoor cover, loads of receipts including previous MOT certificates and 2 CRD keys.

Original speedometer is also provided in the sale though a new one was fitted following the restoration.
